Great Trail!
A few sunny spots but plenty of shade! We didn't see anyone else on the trail so it was a really quiet and peaceful ride. I love days like this!
Go Spider GO!
Spider, (my 7y OTTB) loves to go explore. When I point him towards the trail he finds a gear I forget exists sometimes. Trying to get him to go home is the real trick!
CHOCTAW CREEK PARK- May 7 2026
Weather- 72 and sunny, low wind
Hubby
My husband has been on horses a few times, but rarely often gets to ride with me! I love that he takes time out of his schedule to do my favorite things!
The Park
We used the dirt bridge to cross over the creek, but we had to backtack just a bit because none of the other accesses back to the park were beginner rider friendly, but we had missed the concrete bridge at the far corner, we would have taken that.
BIG plans!
Lisa Belter is an incredibly friendly person who warmed our hearts from the moment we met. She has lived on this land that has been owned by her familiy her whole life and has some incredible (and pretty funny!) stories to tell about the area, She hopes to turn the entire property into an even more incredible place to be!

Haven at Box Canyon- Nov 28 2025
Weather- 58 and cloudy
ROCKS!
Since we just took a hiking trip, we got to see some really cool formations! These rocks are more than 100 yards away in the middle of a basin, so the holes are much bigger than the picture allows. I wonder what used to live in there?
Creek
Theres a creek that runs through the area and its done some incredible terraforming over the eons, looking at the tiny creek and the huge area, its wild to imagine that such a small thing can make such a big impact. I havent been to the Grand Canyon yet, but I wonder if what I'm seeing now will turn into what I will see then.

There are a few obsticals on the trail, including a ramp platform and a rope wall

Mom and Me!
Mom taught me everything I know and it isn't even half of what she knows! I'm grateful to have such a knowldegable person to come ride with me!

The trail goes partially around the lake, it took u a good 2-hour ride to finish the trail (we got lost a few times)
